| (1) Using 1/2" masking tape, apply tape around the Display/Control Panel 1/8" from the edge. |
(2) Leave a tab so that the tape can be easily removed. |
| (3) Drill a 5/32" hole through the tub surround 53" up from the tub floor and 2" left of center.
If the surround is ceramic tile, drill through the grout nearest to these dimensions. Clean the area to be caulked with alcohol. |
(4) Feed the control wire through the hole into the wall cavity behind. |
| (5) Place the display/control panel nicely over the tiles and center it with the center of your bath tub. |
(6) Place a small level atop the Display/Control Panel to keep it level. |
| (7) With a hot glue gun, mount the Display/Control Panel by lightly tacking the middle of the sides to the wall. |
(8) With an Olfa type knife, remove any excessive hot glue so the silicon seal will completely cover the glue . |
| (9) Using 1/2" masking tape, apply tape to the wall 1/8" larger, on each side than the Display/Control Panel. |
(10) If you overlap the tape, it can be removed quicker and easier in one piece. |
| (11) Now caulk the crack, all around the Display/Control Panel with more silicon than would normally be used. |
(12) Try to get a little penetration under the Display/Control Panel with the caulking gun |
| (13) Using your finger as a trowel, go all the way around the Display/Control Panel, both pressing the silicon
into the crack and removing as you go. Use a paper towel to remove silicon from your finger as you go. |
(14) The sides are easy to trowel smoothly and the corners are difficult so take care on the corners. If you thin the silicon
too much, you have time to add more silicon and re-trowel as required. Your finger should make the silicon flush with the edge of the masking tape. |
| (15) Immediately, slowly and carefully remove the tape from the Display/Control Panel. |
(16)Now remove the tape from the wall. If the tape has been overlapped, it will come off in one piece. |
| (17) Lightly smooth the silicon with plenty of saliva or soapy water. This silicon caulking seals and bonds the SSF to the wall. |
(18) Allow 8 hours for the silicon to cure before using the shower.
